Our digital collections may be new, but they are already being noticed. A photograph from our EFCA Historical Photographs Collection is the featured item on CARLI’s Digital Collections website. You can read CARLI’s write-up here:
CARLI (Consortium of Academic Research Libraries of Illinois) is hosted through the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and represents college libraries and research institutions from all over the state. Trinity is a member of CARLI and one of the newest to publish digital collections, with the new initiative starting in September of last year.
In her post for the official CARLI blog about the photograph, Alice Creason, Head of Library Technology and Technical Services at Lewis University, wrote:
“One of the things that drew me to this collection is the wide, panorama format of many of the photographs… One can get lost in this photo for ages, studying the women’s faces, their clothing, hairstyles, and accessories.”
We are happy to be featured on CARLI’s site. Rolfing and the EFCA’s digital collections have now been accessed over a thousand times since September and have steadily grown. There are over 40 books in our Evangelical Free Church Literature Collection, and over 1,000 issues available to browse from the EFCA’s seminal publication, the Evangelical Beacon—all free for download and browsing. We hope you find the time to browse the collections to discover your own favorite books, photographs, and articles!
