Rolfing’s History in Photos Watch the transformation of the library from its home in downtown Chicago to what you know and love today. 3 Comments Add yours Austin Freeman on April 12, 2018 at 10:39 pm Reply Let’s have more of these please Steve Hodgson (TEDS '90) on October 2, 2018 at 4:45 pm Reply Don’t know if you have background history but the library is named after James E. Rolfing who was an executive for the Wurlitzer Company. He and other Wurlitzer executives were in a small plane heading out of Meig’s Field (now Northerly Island) in Chicago when it crashed into Lake Michigan (Nov, 1960). James’s father was friends with then president of Trinity and donated money to the school in honor of his late son. Those who are golf aficionados might know of NBC Golf commentator, Mark Rolfing, who is the eldest of James’s three sons.
